Tourism and Colonial Heritage Congress
We are pleased to announce the International Congress, 2026 TOURISM AND COLONIAL HERITAGE: THE REENCOUNTER OF CULTURES, to be held at the University of Lisbon (Portugal).
Three keynote speakers will enrich our congress with their seminars: Mike Robinson (Nottingham Trent University, England), Juan Pérez (Universidad Las Palmas, Spain) and Maria José de Freitas (ICOMOS ISC Shared Build Heritage, Portugal).
The main theme of this congress is “Tourism and Colonial Heritage”, emphasizing the vital role of tourism in preserving, reinterpreting and promoting the shared values and collective memory of humanity. The congress aims to bring together academics, researchers, industry professionals, students and civil society from around the world to discuss, explore and promote the transversal relationship between a hybrid (colonial) heritage and tourism, questioning and putting into perspective a history that is constantly being updated.
